We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Systems Engineer to join our Franklin, TN team! In this role, the QSE will own the Plant’s Quality Management System documentation and compliance auditing, ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 9001, SGP, GMI, and any applicable certifications. You’ll lead internal audits, maintain document control, and drive quality and sustainability training across the facility.

This position centralizes accountability for quality, compliance, and sustainability under a unified leadership structure which ensures direct visibility, resource support, and integration across engineering, operations, and quality systems. Your leadership will safeguard certifications and drive the continuous improvement that underpins both customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

QMS Development & Document Control

  • Maintain and improve all controlled documentation per ISO 9001, SGP, and all other relevant program requirements, including procedures, templates, and change-history tracking.
  • Collaborate with Engineering & Operations to draft or revise SOPs and work instructions.

Internal Auditing & Certification Program Management

  • Create and own the annual internal audit schedule, covering ISO 9001 clauses, SGP environmental impacts, and GMI print-quality checkpoints.
  • Serve as lead ISO internal auditor, guide trained auditors, and work with Quality to track corrective actions and Rolling Action Items.
  • Coordinate all third-party certification audits (ISO registrar, SGP verifier, GMI assessor).

Quality & Sustainability Training Leadership

  • Design and deliver targeted training for operators, technicians, and supervisors linking roles to QMS, SGP, and GMI.
  • Assess training effectiveness and competency, maintaining records aligned with ISO 9001.

Data Reporting & KPI Management

  • Generate regular reports for the Plant Manager and broader leadership on audit status, NCR trends, documentation efficiency, training completion, and sustainability performance indicators.

Continuous Improvement Engagement

  • Work with our Quality Engineering team and Operations, applying root-cause and risk-analysis tools (e.g., FMEA, 5Y, 8D, A3, etc.) to quality events and sustain improvement projects
  • Facilitate cross-functional initiatives aimed at reducing defects and enhancing operational sustainability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline.

  • 3–5 years of experience focused on ISO-based QMS with responsibilities in document control, auditing, and training

  • Certified Internal Auditor (ISO 9001); ASQ CQA/CQE or similar preferred.

  • Experience with color-management or print-quality systems (e.g., GMI); sustainability credentials or environmental management familiarity (SGP, ISO 14001).

  • Proficient facilitation, analytical, and communication skills; ability to collaborate across plant teams effectively.

KPIs & Success Metrics

  • 100% completion of annual audit schedule; < 10% recurring non-conformances.
  • Document revision cycles completed within 5 business days of request.
  • ≥ 95% employee compliance with quality and sustainability training; average quiz score ≥ 85%.
  • Zero major findings from external ISO, SGP, or GMI audits.
