We are currently recruiting for a Shipping Manager who will oversee and manage operations in the department to ensure that all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed according to schedule. The Shipping Manager is responsible for various managerial, organizational and planning related tasks to ensure a high level of performance in the site’s shipment processes.

 

This position will be on-site and reports to the General Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the verification process of incoming & outbound shipments.
  • Develop and manage an efficient shipping schedule, ensuring all orders are shipped on time and in accordance with customer expectations.
  • Ensures accuracy of raw materials and finished goods inventories at all times.
  • Work with team to improve fulfillment accuracy, packaging standards, and productivity.
  • Responsible for efficient maintenance of all inventory records.
  • Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards.
  • Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock.
  • Manage associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of equipment.
  • Establish standard shipping practices and protocols to ensure a streamlined process and reduce delays.
  • Set team goals in collaboration with executive management and other supervisory leads.
  • Monitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives to improve employees.
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest federal and state safety regulations.
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure products are shipped in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two plus years of leadership experience in a supervisory role, overseeing shipping or receiving in a logistics or manufacturing type environment is highly preferred. Printing, packaging or similar industry experience is a huge plus!
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and support team growth and development.
  • Ability to troubleshoot shipping and logistics issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, adept at managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; and stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance; loads over 50 pounds require the use of mechanical devices or other personnel.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
