Resource Label Group is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team. This role will be based out of our Garner, NC facility. The Systems Administrator is primarily accountable for troubleshooting and resolving client issues that require advanced technical knowledge. This role is the point person for all local issues, contributes to the learning development of all desktop staff and will assist in the design and completion of both new and existing projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for resolving non-emergency & emergency issues escalated from desktop support for Windows PC, MacOS Systems, Windows Servers, plant floor data collection, and any other IT related equipment at the assigned facilities.
  • Participate as a team member in a larger IT environment for the continuous improvement of overall IT operations and the support of smaller facilities that do not have dedicated IT personnel. Assist in effectively supporting a growing user base across a geographically distributed environment.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary up to 25% and support a 24/7 production environment.
  • Installing, Configuring and Administering Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022. 
  • Managing VMware 7.0+ environments.
  • Prompt response and resolution of issues for end users.
  • Fully understand, implement, and keep track of changes to corporate IT standards and policies.
  • Understand when issues need to be escalated to Corporate IT group.
  • Coordinating and resolving issues with MSP, ISP, standard and proprietary software vendors.

Technical Skillset:

  • Good organizational and communication skills. Congenial desk-side manner, Capacity to interface effectively with both technical and non-technical users and the ability to work independently is key. 
  • Windows Server Knowledge: Configuration of NTP, roles/features management, basic hardware level issues, server decommissioning. 
  • Active Directory: Domain Controller creation, AD design management and configuration of advanced features, Manual replication through sites and services, troubleshooting AD replication, File & DFS Replication, Recovery from Journal Wrap and Tombstone, adding & configuring subnet to sites and services with hub and spoke technology, Group Policy management and strategy, designing permission models, failover clustering.
  • DNS: Troubleshooting DNS services on server, Creation & management of internal and external DNS zones, records, root hints, DNS forwarders and metadata cleanup. 
  • DHCP: Reservation management, troubleshooting scope conflicts, understanding of exclusions, configure conflict detections, creating and activating scopes, authorizing server, move devices to new VLAN, determine size of subnet, setup failover, configure IP helper in router, migrate DHCP scope, setup scope options, resolve IP conflicts. 
  • File Permissions: Adding, modifying, or removing permissions, sharing folders, assigning permissions (group vs individual), proper permissions for common shares, restore form shadow copy, configuration of shadow copy, knowledge of non/authoritative restores, configuration of role-based access control.
  • Group Policy: Identifying folder redirection, identifying and updating/verifying policy on workstation, adding sites to trusted sites GPO, troubleshooting group policies not applying, connect group policy management to another server, link/unlink a GPO, apply a group policy to a group, setup internet settings GPO for server 2012/2016, setup and troubleshoot folder redirection policy, recreate default GPOs, import GPO from another domain.
  • Printers: Adding to server or workstation, driver management. Create/deploy/manage PrinterLogic printer cloud technology.
  • Microsoft Exchange / O365 Azure: Account & Mailbox management, Distro group management, basic MX record and blacklist troubleshooting, shared calendar, understanding of email headers, understanding of non-delivery reports, external DNS management, exchange reporting through power shell, email encryption.
  • HP Networking: Interpret network maps, trace devices through the network via MAC address and ARP, show interfaces of a HP device, see uptime of a HP device, determine if connection is offline or if the SLA of local internet is having issues, determine if a circuit is taking errors, determine if local internet is down, determine the subnet of a VLAN, determine default rout, understanding of HP Policy Routing. As well as LAN, WAN, working knowledge of Wireshark and other network investigation tools.
  • Wireless: Knowledge of Aruba Cloud or other cloud based wireless management platforms, SSID Management & troubeshooting, SSID VLAN tagging.
  • VMware: VM Creation, adding and adjusting disk space to a VM, P2V, V2V, span hard drive across datastores, VM management via vsphere, VM templating, VM resource management.
  • Proactive/Backups: Setup and restore backup jobs, document backup jobs for audit purposes, Synology NAS administration and troubleshooting.
  • Desktop: Remote Support, Cloning & imaging workstations, Domain Joining, User profile troubleshooting, Group Policy Support, Software management and deployment.
  • Department Administration: Maintain hardware & software inventory, monitor systems and network endpoints with SolarWinds N-Central/Orion, advocation and usage of Jira ticketing platform, Documentation & Utilization of IT Glue knowledge base articles, Monitor and maintain consistent SLA to end users.
