We are currently seeking a Quality Manager to lead our Quality efforts in our Litho Flexo Grafics location in Sandy, Utah. The candidate will formulate and recommend quality policies and programs that guide the site in maintaining and improving it's competitive position and profitability of the operations. They will oversee the development, documentation, and implementation of a quality system. Additionally they are responsible for supporting corporate and regional quality initiatives, and implementing the training and quality control through internal audits. 

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that a quality system is established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with the American National Standard and report on performance of the quality system to management for review & as a basis for improvement of the quality system.
  • Maintain and handle all external audits.
  • Maintains the structure and use of quality assurance software. 
  • Manages and maintains a calibration program and the use of calibrated equipment. 
  • Liaison with vendors on non-conforming raw materials.
  • Liaison with customers on non-conforming printed products.
  • Keep all Quality certificates up to date and in compliance with standard practices.
  • Develop all documentation that covers the quality system.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to products, process and quality system.
  • Initiate, recommend, and provide solutions through designated channels of management. 
  • Verify the implementation of solutions through internal audits.
  • Participates in the study of new machinery and production methods and the selection of new equipment. Makes recommendations for productivity and quality improvements through the use of new methods. 
  • Provide adequate training to management on the company's quality system. 
  • Studies problem areas of production and manufacturing and makes reports, changes or recommendations in regard to customer complaints and problem areas of production.
  • Attend weekly management meeting and address quality objectives. 
  • Reviews departmental and personal goals with supervisor and subordinates on a regular basis.
  • Supports sales efforts as requested by Sales/Marketing Manager to get new accounts or solve problems. Help design and perform quality support for sales and production.
  • Ensures knowledge of company policy and office rules. Ensures necessary document control support.
 
 

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent years' experience in quality company management. 5+ years experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, purchasing, inventories, scheduling and quality control
  • Good written communication. Ability to write and support revisions for needed procedures. 
  • Preferred Lean/Six Sigma Certifications.
  • Preferred ISO Certified and experience.
