We are currently recruiting for a Proofing Clerk to join our Art Department! The Proofing Clerk is responsible for checking the proofs of all job orders and delivering proofs to both internal and external customers. The Proofing Clerk ensures that quality is maintained throughout every aspect of the position and works closely with the art department, production, and sales.

• Responsible for checking all proofs to detect and mark for correction any grammatical, typographical, or compositional errors. This includes reading the proof against copy, side by side, and marking all errors that appear in the proof.
• Responsible for returning the marked proof to the Mac Operator for correction and re-checking the corrected proof against copy.
• Measures the dimensions, spacing, and positioning of the copy and graphics to verify conformance to job specifications.
• Maintains a daily log of completed, changed, and approved artwork.
• Responsible for assembling the target sheet.
• Responsible for updating the status of proofing jobs in our Job Management system.
• Maintains a daily VOC (voluted organic controlled chemicals) per OSHA requirements. This includes listing all hazardous materials used for each press/each shift.
• Responsible for notifying the Art Department Manager of any impediment resulting in the unsuccessful completion of the job duties.
• Supports the art department, production, and sales staff as required.
• Performs other duties as requested.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of three years or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• One year of previous experience experience in a printing environment is strongly preferred
• Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office ( Word, Excel, Outlook, E-mail) Mac & Windows
• Experience in Photoshop, Illustrator & Indesign.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently is required to walk
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
