We are currently recruiting for a Bindery Folder Technician to join our team! The Bindery Folder Technician performs responsible manual and machine tasks in the set-up, maintenance and operation of all folders for our printing manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Performs folder operations-sets up and adjusts feeder; sets up and adjusts folders; sets up and adjusts delivery; operates folder; sets up folder for special processes (perforating, scoring, slitting/trimming, etc.).
  • Verifies accuracy of folds. Accurate final size on “finish” folds, accurate crossovers on signatures and always checking to insure there is no marking.
  • Performs other bindery operations; Cutting; punching; shrinkwrapping; stitching; padding; and round cornering as required.
  • Performs process related trouble-shooting and correction; monitors production.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance and documents in maintenance binder.
  • Assists in clean up and keeping work area neat and orderly.
  • Understands proper safety procedures regarding operation of all bindery equipment.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of three years or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of previous experience as a bindery technician required.
  • Must be able to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, fractions and volume.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently is required to walk.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.
